Whether you love them or hate them, having wild snakes on your property is a bad thing. If this is the case for you, and for some reason having a professional remove them from your property is not an option, there are a few basic things you can do to make your property a bit less hospitable to these reptiles.
First, snakes aren’t typically interested in being out in the open. For that reason, they’re drawn to hiding places like tall grass. Simply keeping your lawn mowed regularly can help you keep snakes off of your property.
Second, look for piles of rocks or similar materials on your property. As we mentioned, they like hiding places. But they also like warming themselves on rocks.
Finally, you can cut off their food supply by removing any smaller animals they may be feeding on – typically small rodents. Of course, these can cause their own share of problems.
