What are some of the things you’re looking for in your new home? The number of bedrooms? Proximity to your work or school? Architectural style? Pool? Garage? The possibilities are seemingly endless! But, how much serious thought have you given to the overall square footage of your future home?
Many homeowners have realized that they’re living in a home that has a lot more space than they actually need or use. A contributor to this is likely the fact that modern American homes are typically very large. However, a smaller home can mean less money spent on utilities, taxes, and maintenance issues. It can also mean spending less time on upkeep, which gives more time for things you enjoy doing. While we’re not necessarily recommending moving into a tiny home, why not put some meaningful thought into how much space you truly need in your future home, and making decisions accordingly?
