Do you know what rooms in your home are most likely to have mold growth start? You probably guess the basement right away, and that is a very common culprit, but your bathroom is also at high risk when it comes to mold.

Part of the problem is that there is a lot of moisture in there, and some bathrooms have very poor air circulation, presenting mold with a perfect breeding ground. Mold can be very harmful to your health, especially if you have respiratory problems or if you have allergies.

To improve airflow, you should take a closer look at your exhaust fan. It needs to have a duct leading directly outside, and it should be clean and running properly. If it is very noisy, there might be some mechanical problem with the fan, so it might be time to replace it.

You should also be careful to dry up any wetness on the floor, especially so if you have carpet in your bathroom. Leaks should be repaired immediately as well.
