There’s a relatively simple DIY project that a lot of homeowners enjoy doing in the wintertime – painting a room in their house. There are few projects that have as big of an impact for relatively low effort. If you’re thinking about tackling this project, we have a few suggestions for you that will help you make a success of it.
First of all, if you’re painting in the middle of winter, you’ll want to keep an eye on airflow. For example, if the room is completely closed up, the smell of paint may start to affect you negatively, so crack a window. If the heat is on while you’re painting, the air will be drier, and so it may cause the paint to dry faster than you expect – which might be a good thing. Also, don’t be afraid to invest in higher quality materials. Good paint is easier to apply, easier to clean, and is much more durable.
